Fear not my fine readers, I’m not dead. Merely silent. So here we are it’s April (when the hell did that happen) and my how things change so quickly. Dudley comes to work everyday, and runs the office like a crazy man. Just a few moments ago he somehow got out into the hallway of our 100 year old office building and I could hear him around the corner tearing across the hardwood floors. Then sliding past the entryway. NICE.
Anyway - last we spoke my folks were getting a lake house. That’s since changed. My mom hates the lake, and they were going to move permanently. Uhm. Yeah - mild, momentary delusion I call this. We all had it. But that’s finished now. Since then, I’ve been to Europe for work, my Grandmother turned 83 years old and got her ears pierced for the first time in her life. Oh, yeah I and I purchased a house. Yes - a whole house.
Say hello! Built in 1927, original hardwood floors - cellar (so awesome), 2 full baths, 3 bedroom - and office and a giant kitchen. There’s a living room too oh and a dining room. And look at that porch! Dudley will have a yard in the back - he’s very excited. In fact thrilled that he will be able to potty in the privacy of his own lawn - instead of in front of passing traffic and people pointing and laughing.
More pictures to come, I close on Tuesday and have a few updates that need to be done before I move in. I’ll chronicle them here, at the least send photo’s to the blog.
My cab driver who was of another nationality besides American decided to say that
“Fort Worth has only white peoples.”
What does one say to that? I’m not going to argue and say well, technically there are other people here - they just live in the other part of town. How the hell does that sound? Sigh. I rode the rest of the way in silence feeling slightly snobbish and completely uncomfortable.
